Sealer Quantity Calculator

Plan sealer volume from the manufacturer’s coverage rate, coats and your waste allowance.

Your inputs

How it works

Sealer volume = area ÷ coverage per volume unit × coats × (1 + waste % ÷ 100). Enter coverage per single coat, not a multi-coat system yield. The same coverage is applied to each coat; calculate coats separately if their rates differ.

Worked example

1,000 sq ft at 200 sq ft/US gal with 2 coats and 10% waste needs 11 US gal. These numbers are illustrative, not a recommended coverage rate.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same rate on every surface?

No. Porosity, texture, preparation, product and application method affect yield. Follow the specific label and test coverage on the actual surface.

Should I round up to a full container?

The result is a volume estimate. Round up to available package sizes after checking the supplier’s container volume and your actual job requirements.
